Paris 1919: a fragile peace
How do you begin to rebuild a shattered world?
That was the question facing delegates at the Paris Peace Conference in 1919, which is the context for Flora Johnston's novel The Paris Peacemakers. The novel was inspired by letters written home from the conference by her great-aunt who was a typist there. Through her lives of her characters we explore not only the global decision making but the impact of the trauma of war on individuals and the ongoing quest for peace.
